Trump Demands Return of Leaded Gasoline to ‘Make Fuel Cheap Again’
April 11, 2025
Mar-a-Lago, FL – In a radical move, President Donald Trump has called on major oil companies to bring back leaded gasoline, arguing that its return would “fix Biden’s gas disaster” and make fuel “affordable, powerful, and patriotic again.”
Speaking at a rally in Texas on Monday, Trump railed against what he called the “woke energy agenda” and fondly reminisced about the “good old days” when gas had lead in it and “cars had real horsepower, not this electric nonsense.”
“You know, they used to put lead in gasoline, and it was the best gas, folks—unbelievable gas. It was strong, it was powerful, it made cars go faster,” Trump told the cheering crowd. “And now? They took it away. Why? Because of ‘science’? Give me a break.”
Experts were quick to point out that leaded gasoline was phased out in the U.S. decades ago due to its devastating effects on public health, especially in children. However, Trump dismissed these concerns as “fake news” and suggested the removal of lead from fuel was a conspiracy by “globalists” to weaken American engines.
“What do you think makes America strong? Tough gas! Big engines! Not these little Biden-mobiles running on windmills!” he added.
The oil industry has yet to respond to Trump’s demands, though insiders say executives are “interested” as it will be cheaper to produce and faster to deliver.
Meanwhile, Trump supporters have already started selling “Leaded Lives Matter” T-shirts and bumper stickers.
EPA Response: ‘Please, No’
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a rare same-day response to Trump’s comments, simply stating: “No.”
When asked for further comment, an EPA spokesperson sighed heavily and said, “We already have enough to deal with.”
Despite pushback from scientists, and regulators, Trump has vowed to make the return of leaded gasoline a cornerstone of his MAGA and bringing cost down, “We’re going to bring back the best gas, the greatest gas, and you’re going to love it.”
